Ive used simple as an emergency barrier cream no problems, boots, superdrug, tesco etc. . . E45 (as Caz says and now im using it) is great for moisturising after your tan. The simple range moisturiser you can use before a tan as well. I personally use Radox, or Simple shower gels to prep for a tan, you dont need to spend a lot of these products.

If I run out of proper barrier cream (which I only use a tiny bit of around the very bottom of clients' feet) I use a tube of Aqueous Cream (from Boots or other Chemist/Superdrug). About £1 a tube, will last ages, and it's a good hand cream too!
