orange a-tan...
By: O'Natural | Posted on: 08/02/2010 21:04

Hello I have been tanning for approx 8 months and am in need of advice please! I have been using a-tan and have not had any problems until now. I did a wedding trial on a lady the other day using 8%, she loved the top half but said her legs looked far too coloured, verging on orange? ! Never had this complaint before, is it just a case of maybe putting too much product on or spraying too close? Dont want to get this wrong for her wedding! Also has anyone had the problem of dark patches on the inside of the top of the arm? I advise clients to keep their arms out and not to let them drop but still find the odd person has this dark patch? ?

Funny this, ive been using A Tan since oct 08. I used it on myself on sat only wanting a healthy subtle glow i looked so over tanned and silly orange it was embarrassing. I had to make excuses i was trying a new solution! My hands face everywhere was dreadful. This is the 3rd time its happened to me, and my partner tans every friday he only ever had 8% and now wont wear it hes gone on to another solution it looks so orange on him. Not sure why and i thought it was me, but had a worrying niggle about using this 8% so havent, ive mixed it now with 12% to get rid of it. Saying the obvious but could double check no deodrant or perfum etc? I tan the body twice but underside of arms only lightly as this looks more natural,

SHe had n't been a secret squirrel and been using some form of fake tan on her legs beforehand had she? As if she had been using Dove or even Holiday skin this would increase the DHA in the skin and cause an ' orange effect' if spray was applied a few days after? Sounds strange that the top half was ok. . . . It's amazing what the clients forget to tell you!

If her top half is fine then there is nothing wrong with the product, otherwise it would look wrong all over, I would say your customer has some type of product on her legs. I have been using A-tan since it has come out and order different amounts of solution at different times of the year, and have never had any problems, only repeat business. Remember, if you put too much of any solution on at one time all you are doing is building up the colour guide which will make any one look orange. The fact that you have not had any problems before suggests its your customer.

Like the Mandy said above , its pretty obvious if the tan has worked on her top half, then hey, yes , she has a product on her legs, If the product was not suited to the clients skin tone it would come out orange all over, not just on certain parts of the body, but please remember the basics No company puts orange in the solution, ORANGE only happens if the DHA is to high for the customers skin type, and please remember, if it looks to bright when you spray the customer then this is only colour guide which is going to wash of the following day. You also need to remember at this time of year every one is alot paler so to suddenly wake up in the moring with an instant tan can and will look bright.
