Just wondering if anyone elses business is slow. Started spray tanning in oct 09 so still early days and not had any complaints about the tans i have done. Have been doing flyers in hairdressers and all the usual adveretising, website, fre advertising etc and things are still slow. Any advice would be appreciated

Business is slower early in the New Year, cold weather plus post Christmas (paying for credit card bills) plus people put deposits on summer holidays around now - hence people may have less cash to spend on spray tans right now. It is normal to be quieter in Jan/Feb and things start to pick up soon. Firstly, have you been in touch with your regular customers (courtesy call if they are thinking of having a spray tan soon)? When you call maybe offer a special price for a limited time in February. You could also invest in your friends and family . . . People who go out a lot. Give them a (free? ) spray tan on Thursday/Friday and when they go out ask them to tell their friends and give out your business card. That sometimes works particularly with large groups of girls who know lots of other people.

Check out the schools and local sports clubs as they often will be hosting their pamper nights from March through to June? July. . . This is what started my business off and I hardly ever turn any down. . Have done around 30+ now and have only had one night where it was not profitable! THey are good fun and keep it simple. . . Dont go over board! Most schools have PTA websites which will have forth coming events. . Try contacting via this method if not direct to the schools. . . Wedding fayres are the other way. . . But the outlay is usually more expensive (I dont do these anymore as I find the pamper nights bring in enough new business and then the referrals and repeat business keep me going! ) Good luck xxxx ps It took me a couple of years before I started getting known (oh - I do it part time too! )

Sorry try this again, Tan 2 You I have looked at the school websites but they don't list anything for the PTA's only the school office. Did you contact the school offices or do all the schools in your area have the PTA's listed separately? thanks
