Hi - just wondering am now on my 5th year using an HVLP Turbine. . . . 'the pig' - now that I am due to get busier I am just asking has anyone changed from the Turbine to the Compressor and if so what was it like? What are the advantages and disadvantages. . Ie is i quicker, slower. . . Etc - I can do up to 13 sprays in a day during my busiest time and I need a gun which is good and doesnt leak. . . I have loved the Pig however, I dont always trust the guns! If anyone can recommend any compressors or their opinions then I would love to hear it. . I now mainly work from home but do the occasional mobile and pamper night. . . . . Thank you for any replies :-)

I used to use a turbine about three years ago, I stillhave it asa back up, but since having a compressor never needed to use it. I have the mobile trolley, at first it felt strange as you don, t use any where near the same amount of solution as you would do with a turbine, i'm getting around 23 sprays per litre, but at the begining I was getting about 18, where with my t100 i was getting about 14-16. My old gun did not have a spray pattern, so I bought the new gun fron spraytansupermarket, and its never leaked or let me down. What I will say, is I would recommend you do some training as the set up and cleaning is different. They are also so much quieter and look professional. Hope this helps

You will find the compressor is slower than a turbine, but it wont have any problems doing a lot of tans if you buy the right compressor. I started with the pro 2000 on here and soon bought the pro 5000, if you are going to tan a lot in a day i would advise the pro 5000. Quiet, easy to carry, no problems at all my gun is the new one from here as well so you have the choice of 3 spray patterns. You have more control with the compressor, pulling back on the air pressure is great for making your solution go futher. Silly question - but if you are quite happy with the turbine, do you really need to change, is the gun the main reason?

Thank you for your honest replies. . . And I did laugh at the silly question, as I keep asking myself as to if I am happy with what I have why change it! ? ? ? ;-) When I have been to the exhibitions, the compressors look, feel and sound great and use less solution. . I would love to try one but cant make the training courses so easily. . If there is anyone on the forum who lives near bromley in Kent and uses a compressor and is happy for me to have a play, then I would be most grateful. Then I can decide whether I am just being too fussy or not! LOL! Thanks again x

Hi there, did you get any luck on trying out a compressor? I too have a turbine, and I bought an expensive salon professional one which I find really heavy for portable use, even though it is sold as a mobile piece of kit. Noise is a problem too, if I have several tans to do in one session, I do get a headache at the end ! Have wondered about compressors, have never tried one, but think I would like to test one out. Also I like the idea of getting more tans per litre to make a bit more profit. Have had my turbine for over 2 years now and it is a good piece of kit, don't get me wrong but when I bought the turbine, I never knew about compressors. If you do get to try one out, would you post it on the Forum with your thoughts? Would love to know. . . . :)
